3:15 – 4:30 pm Grades K-6

It’s our final program for the year, and summer is just around the corner! In our final fun and fabulous program, we’ll explore engineering, chemistry, and a little bit of ancient art!

Here’s what we’ll be learning:
• Butter Churn Engineering: Did you know you can make butter at home? You’ll learn how it’s done, then engineer a machine to help make the process easier—and more fun!

• Boats out of Paper: What makes something float? Can we make a boat out of paper? What would we need to do this? How much weight could it hold? We’ll discuss how sometimes engineers don’t have ideal materials to work with, and how to modify these materials to get better results.

• (Dry) Ice Cold: Dry ice is a fascinating material, and at -109.3°F, it’s very, VERY cold! We’ll explore dry ice’s unique properties (safely, of course!), and use it to make a ghoulish beverage for the class!

• Paint by Nature: We will use pigments obtained from three natural sources--berries, leaves, and spices--to make water-based paints, and use our new paints to create artwork. We’ll also discover how to use milk to create striking and colorful patterns!

Be sure to register by April 3! Seats are limited!
